Information

This blog is for the aspiring law student who finds themselves thinking, “Maybe I should just do something else. I don’t know if I can keep going. This feels too hard.” If that sounds like you, then you’re exactly who I’m talking to.

Esquire in Progress is a little different because I’m not speaking as someone who already made it. I’m still in the middle of everything. I haven’t gotten into law school yet. I’m studying for the LSAT, trying to survive the application process, and dealing with the ups and downs just like you. I’m right here walking through it alongside you.

When I first started this journey, I struggled more than I expected. My school didn’t have many helpful pre-law resources, so I ended up starting the People of Color Pre-Law Coalition to support other students like me. I honestly thought it would be simple since I usually get things done easily, but I learned quickly that this was different. I started late, I made mistakes, and there were days when I cried because everything felt overwhelming. I didn’t have a mentor, and I didn’t know any older students to ask for help.

Even with all of that, I kept going. I learned by trial and error, and I decided to create this website so other students wouldn’t feel as lost as I did.

Preparing for law school can feel confusing, stressful, and exhausting. But it is not impossible. And whenever you feel stuck, take a moment and remind yourself why you started in the first place. That reminder has helped me more times than I can count.

I want this space to give you guidance, resources, and encouragement, so you feel supported and prepared. We’re both figuring this out, and you don’t have to go through it alone.
